A network of 1,550 km of waterways is yours to discover in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. Of which 276 km are navigable. Dedicated trail maps for exploring the waterways and the signage on the channels will help you to find your way. So why not hire out a canoe or kayak - available from punt stations and boathouses?

If you would like to discover the most beautiful and tranquil places of the Spreewald's unique lagoon landscape by canoe for yourself, take the Spreewald Canoe Trail.

The canoeists of Cottbus have put together a marvellous route for exploring the waterways comprising a total of 16 checkpoints right across the Spreewald. Glide through the still and seemingly undisturbed nature of the biosphere reserve as the trail takes you past friendly guesthouses and calls in on tourist attractions and museums, such as the Lehde Open Air Museum, the palaces of Lübbenau and Lübben and the Schlepzig Rural Museum.

Your Spreewald Canoe Trail Pack is available for a small charge at over 20 outlets, including tourist information centres, campsites in the Spreewald and from boat hire stations.
