Family time is a precious time that you can enjoy to the fullest, especially in the Spreewald. The range of options for a holiday with children is very large and incredibly varied. You can experience exciting adventures in the beautiful nature with your loved ones or indulge in individual experiences in the small and fine amusement parks.

The region's playgrounds are also a great place to romp around and the zoos invite you to exciting visits with the whole family. So there are plenty of opportunities for an unforgettable family holiday in the Spreewald!

Experience animal fun

In the Spreewald there is already a great diversity of species in the wild alone. However, if you want to see some more exotic animals or get closer to native animals, you should take note of the zoos and animal parks in the region. From the ostrich farm to the alpaca farm to the petting zoo in Cottbus, you can experience a lot of animal life. At the eagle and hunting falcon farm, not only the little visitors are amazed by the flight shows with the rulers of the air.

A paddle tour through the lush greenery is a lot of fun for young and old and is also good for the body. Numerous canoe and boat rental companies provide boats and give you tips on the most beautiful routes through the Spreewald. A little tip from us: At weekends and on public holidays, it's worth booking boats in advance. Then nothing will stand in the way of your relaxed tour of the Spreewald rivers. By the way, there is enough space in the boats for your equipment and food.

Boat trips

The most traditional way to explore the Spreewald is with a boat trip on the rivers. A boatman will take you through the wide network of Spreewald rivers and tell you exciting and funny stories about the places you pass. You can also sample regional delicacies on many of the punt trips. The boat trips are of course one of the most popular attractions in summer, but you can also explore the Spreewald this way in winter. Wrapped up in woollen blankets and with a mulled wine for the grown-ups, a winter punt trip takes you through the snow-covered Spreewald. These boat trips have a magic all of their own.
