The place Lieberose

(Luboraz)

Surrounded by meadows, forests and lakes, the small town of Lieberose lies in the Upper Preewald. Bordered by the Schwielochsee lake to the west and the Schlaubetal valley to the east, Lieberose offers a wealth of excursion options in a charming natural landscape.

Here you will find Lieberose Castle, which with its extensive park is one of the largest baroque castles in the state of Brandenburg.

Places of interest in Lieberose

The town centre of Lieberose fell victim to several fires in the Middle Ages, so that the building development essentially dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. One of the town's most famous monuments is Lieberose Castle, which is one of the largest baroque castles in the state of Brandenburg and is surrounded by a 34-hectare park. The Elector of Saxony's post office pillar from 1737 is a testament to the reign of Augustus the Strong, who had post office pillars erected in the towns of the Electorate of Saxony so that distance and postage could be calculated.
