Paddling in the Spreewald

On your paddle tour through the Spreewald, you will pass picturesque Spreewald houses, cosy garden restaurants, old wooden bridges, mills and manually operated locks. Many a garden café by the water will invite you to enjoy coffee & yeast pancakes or other Spreewald specialities.
Boat hire
We recommend you to book canoes and kayaks before you arrive. Paddling is one of the most popular activities in the Spreewald, particularly in the summer months. It can be correspondingly difficult, especially for larger groups, to get the right equipment unless they have reserved.
Explore the most beautiful locations and towns in the Spreewald under your own steam or allow yourself to be piloted through the Spreewald on a journey through the streams on a guided canoe trip. Find out in advance about the navigation rules for the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and in doing so, make a valuable contribution towards preserving the unique natural world of the Spreewald.
