Places of interest in Lübben

Lübben fascinates children: with its magnificent castle from the Renaissance period and the old fortified tower, it looks like something from another time. The other offers for families are also unique in the Spreewald. The castle island of Lübben, for example, is divided into adventure areas. There is a water playground with a waterfall and a real wooden raft. Children can become real young pirates in the Spreewald. Then it's on to the hill labyrinth, sound garden and the many other attractions.

Paul Gerhardt in Lübben

Paul Gerhardt (1607 - 1676), considered the most important German author of church songs after Martin Luther, spent the last seven years of his life in Lübben. He is buried in the Paul Gehrhardt Church named after him. Among his many surviving songs is the well-known "Geh aus, mein Herz, und suche Freud'" (Go out, my heart, and seek joy). If you would like to learn more about the life and work of Paul Gehrhardt, the City and Regional Museum in Lübben Castle has its own exhibition area dedicated to him.

Activities in Lübben

Lübben beckons adventurers: check the fit of your safety harness and conquer the only high ropes course in the Spreewald. Meanwhile, your children can practise on the "Ant" starter course. After all that exertion, why not relax a little? Then take a boat trip in the Spreewald. Since there are five harbours in Lübben, the choice is wide and ranges from a short sightseeing tour to full-day tours in the Spreewald. Of course, a visit to the SpreeLagune - the new natural bathing area in Lübben - is also a nice way to end the perfect day with the family.
