The village of Raddusch

(Raduš)

Raddusch is located in the middle of the UNESCO Spreewald Biosphere Reserve, between Lübbenau and Burg. The tranquil village lies in the official settlement area of the Sorbs/Wends. Not only do bilingual street signs point to the history, but the Sorbian language and culture are alive and well here.

The natural harbour in Raddusch is the ideal starting point for punt trips far away from the tourist centres in the Spreewald. It is considered an insider's tip for nature-oriented punt trips and paddling tours far away from the tourist strongholds in the Spreewald.

Places of interest in Raddusch

If you are travelling on the A15 towards Cottbus, you will have a good view of one of the most famous sights in the Spreewald: the Slawenburg Raddusch. Inside the reconstructed fortress, a multimedia exhibition tells the story of Lower Lusatia. In the centre of the Spreewald village of Raddusch, a visit to the Heimatstube is worthwhile. The rooms are furnished with historical furniture and locals talk about village life around 1900 during a guided tour of the exhibition.
